Chief of Staff

About Savvy Cooperative

Savvy Cooperative is helping the healthcare industry create less crap, and instead develop more meaningful and inclusive products and services. We do this by providing a marketplace for patient insights, where companies and innovators can connect directly with diverse patients and consumers to participate in market research, user-testing, discussion boards, and other co-design opportunities. Savvy’s clients include AstraZeneca, Bayer, Amazon, and many many more! Savvy is the first and only patient-owned public benefit co-op that empowers patients to use their health experiences to advance research and product development, and advocates that patients are fairly compensated for their contributions. Using a unique co-op model, Savvy is able to leverage its patient members’ networks to quickly recruit even the rarest of patients across a variety of diverse demographics. Savvy’s award-winning co-op has been featured in FastCompany, TechCrunch, Forbes, The Boston Globe, and was named one of the 50 Most Daring Entrepreneurs by Entrepreneur Magazine.

Job Description

We are a busy and growing startup looking for a smart and creative Chief of Staff to help keep us running smoothly and be a force multiplier to the CEO! Your primary responsibility will be to assist the CEO and provide additional support to the leadership team, as needed. You will also lead special projects, from research and analysis, to execution and implementation. To be successful in this role, you must be organized, dependable, and possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills in order to help the CEO manage her day-to-day. You should also have a strong ability to research, analyze, and interpret data in order to assist the CEO and other leaders in executing on strategic business initiatives (such as updating pricing models, researching new product offerings, expanding to new markets, and tracking healthcare news and investments). This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the inner workings of the healthcare industry, as you will be communicating with clients, partners, and executives from across the globe in a variety of different functions at big pharma, digital health companies, and beyond. Savvy is also pioneering a distributed ownership model, so if you like weird, messy things with high impact, this is the place for you!

Report to the CEO

You will have noticed that you’ll be spending a lot of time with the CEO, which likely leads you to wonder, who the heck is she? Her professional dating profile would read something like this: Jen is a PhD researcher by training, but more of a creative type at heart. She’s direct, honest, and transparent, and cares deeply about her team. She’s a big picture thinker that is not afraid to think beyond current models and be the first mover, which enabled her to land the first ever VC funding into a cooperatively-owned business and be named one of the 50 Most Daring Entrepreneurs by Entrepreneur Magazine. She’s got a track record of putting herself out there for the cause, be it flash mobs, puppet shows, or wearing a hospital gown at an investor conference. She does, in fact, enjoy long walks, but most likely around the streets of Brooklyn (and she’ll probably talk to you on the phone during those walks, apologies in advance for the occasional siren and honking). She’s looking for someone to help her stay on top of the day-to-day and channel her abundant ideas into strategic priorities and actionable business initiatives. Swipe right if that’s you.
